Real Wedding | Christine & Alex | The Lyons Farmette

“lyons

The Lyons Farmette is an amazing property with an organic farm and an animal farm of alpacas, a llama and their goat Waylon. One of Christine's must haves for her wedding was a photo with Waylon! The florals were all provided by the Farmette's organic farm and catering was farm-to-table with earth-friendly disposable bamboo plates. The couple wed under the Farmette's signature tree in a multi-cultural ceremony with some Jewish and Christian traditions mixed in including the couple's version of the Seven Blessings with their wedding party giving their own personal blessings to the couple. After the ceremony guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour complete with yard games of bocce, ladder golf and homemade cornhole boards paying tribute to their alma maters. The night was filled with dinner under the stars, dancing and what Jewish wedding would be complete without a Hava Nagila!

"Besides the alpacas and AMAZING florals by Helen, our favorite parts of the wedding were our personal touches on everything - writing the ceremony with one of Alex's best friends as the officiant, designing & painting all the chalkboards, building our cornhole sets, creating all the printed items, and planning the day exactly how we wanted it. The one thing we kept hearing from people after the wedding was about how everything totally represented us as a couple and that is exactly what we hoped for." - Christine Lin

Romance at River Bend - The Vendors

“rustic The Venue
We could not have asked for a better background for our photographs. Not only are Betsy and her staff incredible to work with, but they provide our Colorado couples with two beautiful and sustainable venues, River Bend and The Lyons Farmette.

The Photographers

Kim Mitiska with The Unfound Door was the primary shooter with Kyla Fear as the second shooter. These two ladies did an unbelieveable job working within our schedule and capturing these incredible images of Mayson and Jaclyn.

The Dresses

Julia from Blue Bridal was generous enough to let us use these two amazing WTOO gowns. She even donated the elegant hairpiece that Mayson wore during the shoot.

The Models
I couldn’t have asked for better models and Mayson and Jaclyn did a great job playing the part of two women in love.

The Styling
Amanda and Alexi from Elegancy by Design are a hair and makeup dynamic duo who turned our models into brides.

The Stationary
As one of the last vendors to join the team, Christy at Lucky Onion took our vision and perfectly executed a very romantic and soft menu, invitation and place cards to enhance the place settings.

The Flowers
Katie of Fox Meadow Florals brought some amazing creativity to this shoot with her gorgeous floral chandelier and the custom made swing.

The Jewelry
The entire team at Abby Sparks Jewelry was so helpful with providing earrings and rings for our brides. The blue turquoise ring is one of my absolute favorites!!

The Rentals
When I saw the farm table in the Event Rents catalog, I just knew it would be perfect for this shoot. The Fleur de Lis plates, pink napkins, gold flatware and carousel glasses helped tie everything together.

My First Styled Shoot

“lesbian While I’ve been planning weddings for almost 10 years, I just did my first styled shoot this past summer. For those of you who are unfamiliar, a styled shoot is essentially a mock wedding. These shoots give vendor’s the opportunity to showcase their talents and partner up with other vendors who share the same vision. Ely Hemnes from The Unfound Door was amazing enough to invite me to partner with her and her photographers to create something amazing. When we first met to discuss concepts, we came up with the idea of doing some sort of lesbian shoot. With the legalization of marriage for everyone, we knew that this was going to be a very important message for us to promote. Through the evolution of our planning process, we wanted to take the rustic theme that so many couples are using, but give it an extra element of glam. We were also lucky enough to get this shoot featured on Borrowed and Blue in October and again recently on The Colorado Wedding Magazine’s Blog! We’re so excited to finally be able to share all of these photos with the world! Below are just a few of my favorite photos from the shoot and the awesome vendors who helped us put this together. The photographs who were able to capture this beautiful afternoon were Kim Mitiska and second shooter Kyla Fear. Over the next couple of weeks, I’m going to share some more photos from the shoot and highlight each of the vendors that made this possible. I’m extremely proud of the shoot and would love to know what you think!
